For fantasy owners, Roy Williams numbers have been abysmal and he has not turned in numbers as expected but that could be said about many of the expected top receivers including Torry Holt, Steve Smith, and Larry Fitzgerald. Today it was announced Williams will be out several weeks with a sprained sprained PCL which means he will be out for the fantasy playoffs. Owners of Roy Williams should look for Shaun McDonald, Sidney Rice, or someone available who has potential to score touchdowns in his place.

For fantasy players, rookie sensation Adrian Peterson is out for about 3 weeks with a sprained lateral collateral ligament with a ‘two-plus grade’ tear, which mean it is not totally torn. He should be back as early as week 12 but most likely week 13. Chester Taylor is a great pick up this week against an Oakland team that has been terrible against the run, even allowing big Ron Dayne to stumble for 122 yards.

For teams in need of a receiver, DJ Hackett is a great option after coming off his ankle injury.  He was touted to have an outstanding year at the start of the season before being injured but has caught 14 passes for 159 yards and two TDs in his first two games back. What makes him an even better choice is that Mike Holmgren has gone from a rushing attack to trigger happy passing which makes both Hackett and Hasselback better options for fantasy football. Hackett should be available in many leagues as he was dropped after the injury so pick him up quick because Seattle schedule is filled with weaker pass defenses.
